Your in house MLOps team
Based in Manchester, we are an experienced team of engineers and data science specialists, all passionate about the power of open source MLOps. Our clients tell us that we’re knowledgeable, helpful and good to work with. We work hard to earn their trust.
Let's talkOur Mission
With our team of industry-leading specialists, we conceive and build open-source solutions that break new ground. Armed with our deep understanding of open-source MLOps, and appetite for innovation, we work side-by-side data science teams to help them realise their vision. If a problem seems impossible, we find a way. If the right tool doesn’t exist, we build one. Allowing us to harness and channel the power of AI models and make positive and meaningful change.
The Fuzzy Labs difference
We passionately believe that open source tools are the best way to create MLOps solutions. They give you more flexibility. They’re future proof. They can be tweaked according to your needs. Plus, importantly, you own the solution. You’re not locked into a proprietary product, which may not be able to change and adapt as your needs evolve.
We also know that the tools themselves are only part of the equation. We spend time working closely with our clients, to ensure they fully understand how best to use these tools to move forwards. See us as an extension of your in-house team.
Our industry is littered with proprietary platforms, all claiming to be ‘the best’. Reading about them all is both bewildering and exhausting. But our experience has shown that the fastest, most cost effective and flexible choice for our clients is to develop bespoke MLOps solutions using open source tools.
Curious? Well then, let’s chat.
Our team
Matt has a deep knowledge and passion for computer science, the natural world, history and culture. He is the driving force of technical innovation at Fuzzy Labs. Matt thrives on the opportunity to push the boundaries and inspires our team to do the same. In his spare time he enjoys learning Mandarin whilst drinking whiskey and creating DIY IoT projects (yes really!).
As a tech founder, Tom is driven by a passion for technical excellence Vs maximising profits. His background is in DevOps, but these days focuses more on the commercial and strategic side of the business. Tom's personal passion outside of work is cycling, preferably up a lot of hills. Ask him about 'type 2' fun.
Robbie has over 20 years' technology experience, from front line sales through to running SaaS businesses, the last 5 of which were spent in AI-focused commercial roles at Peak AI. A Software Engineering graduate with a passion for all things commercial, Robbie loves sports, touts his Hong Kong experience, and claims to be a skilled cherry tomato cultivator.
Andy has spent close to 30 years in software engineering building scalable and resilient web-based systems. In fact, he and Tom worked together back when they were whipper snappers (and most of us we're still in school)! In his spare time, you'll find him building and fixing things and tinkering away on his latest project. He's also a keen musician, with a staggering guitar collection.
Joe joins us following a seven year career in the civil service, starting off as a data analyst and moving towards data engineering and eventually into the DevOps and ML engineering space. He brings a wealth of experience and breadth of skills to Fuzzy Labs having worked on a range of projects, tech stacks, and languages. Outside of the office, Joe has a small holding, enjoys growing fruit and veg (including make cider!), and chasing horses when they escape. He’s also a pretty keen touring cyclist!
Jon completed his PhD at the University of Manchester, where he was sponsored by and worked closely with BBC R&D. His research focused on uncovering the intricacies of audience engagement with interactive media, building predictive models of their behaviour, and putting them into production. When he’s not working, Jon can be found pounding the trails in the rolling hills of east Manchester, usually with Metallica blasting in his ears.
Misha has a strong background in computer science and bioinformatics. He studied at the University of Manchester and then went on to earn a masters at Imperial College London, where he worked on the Missense3D project. In his free time, Misha enjoys exploring a range of interests, from food to mixing his own scents. He is a true Renaissance man.
Danny has spent the last eight years as a PhD student then Research Associate in Machine Learning at the University of Manchester. He’s worked across a range of areas, covering recurrent neural networks, ensemble learning, uncertainty quantification, and explainability. Outside of work, you’ll likely find Danny either lifting weights or finding a wall to climb. We hear he’s pretty good at baking too!
Chris is a computer science and maths whiz who graduated from the University of Manchester with top honours. In his free time, he loves listening to all kinds of music and hitting the pool for a swim. He's also a big fan of the Manchester music scene and goes to A LOT of gigs.
Shubham, (the perfect dude) is a master of AI with a passion for machine learning engineering and MLOps. He earned his Master's degree in AI from Heriot Watt University and follows the teachings of Feynman, believing in the power of simplicity in understanding complex concepts. In his free time, Shubham can be found engrossed in a good book.
Oscar has a passion for both machine learning and snowboarding. He holds a Master's degree in AI from the University of Manchester and a first-class degree in computer science from the University of Liverpool. When he's not working on his snowboarding tricks, you can find him indulging in some delicious Japanese cuisine.
Scott has a background in Economics and Statistics and has a bunch of experience as a Data Scientist, primarily working on NLP-based problems. He's excited about getting things into production so they can be used by end-users. When he’s not cooking and eating excellent food, you can find him getting his Whoop strain score as high as possible.
Yaz is big into his racing and sports, watching F1 and playing basketball whenever he can. His background is a combination of engineering and data science, working in both spaces before becoming a Fuzzician. He's fascinated by automation and AI, and when he's not putting himself out of a job, you can find him playing competitive video games and eating fancy food with his friends.
