About the role

We’re based in Greater Manchester, UK, operating on a hybrid model, typically spending three days a week in the office.

Over the past 12 months, we have doubled both our business size and revenue, and our growth ambitions for this year are just as bold. Our work spans both private and public sectors, but we are now looking for an energetic, commercially-driven professional to help scale our private sector business alongside our CCO.

To date, our growth has been fueled by partners, inbound inquiries, networks, and referrals. Now, we are focused on building a scalable, repeatable revenue engine—and this role will be instrumental in shaping and executing that strategy in collaboration with our Marketing and Leadership teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Building a high-quality pipeline of new private sector opportunities.
  • Developing strategic sales approaches that align with our long-term growth objectives.
  • Partnering with the CCO to drive deals from lead to close.
  • Helping shape how we engage, sell, and deliver to private sector clients.

This role isn’t about chasing quick wins—it’s about sustainable growth, ensuring we sell the right services to the right customers.

As well as living the values you’ll also be able demonstrate:

  • Experience: ideally worked in a start-up environment and can show success at growing revenue. Experience in selling technical solutions is preferred but provided there is an aptitude to learn it is not mandatory.
  • Client communication: strong communicator, comfortable running meetings and communicating with multiple persona types on the technical front (we generally sell to Technical Leadership)
  • Commercial: proven track record of growing revenue, selling service and product packages.
  • Business development: can find new business using innovative methods that are well thought out and executed. Running high impact and occasional vs. low impact and frequent activities.
  • Self-starter: with lots of support from our CCO and the business, you will be expected to build and deliver your own commercial plans.
